7 Weeks BUMP-Date!

Happy Sunday! I’m going to shift our bump dates to Sunday’s, as our weeks begin on Saturday’s. So here we are!

Our 7 week bump date is small, but mighty!

This pregnancy is so much different than my pregnancies with my girls. It’s very strange to feel pregnant one minute but, not the next. In fact, I’d say that happens on a daily basis.

Some days I wake up feeling so sick, I know I must be pregnant! Other days I’m waking up feeling absolutely nothing making myself question whether I’m pregnant or not. However, we know for sure I am pregnant! With not one, but two boys! How crazy is that right?

I don’t think our minds have fully wrapped around the idea of two. But, I’ve started gathering plans and lists regarding what we will need. Include our must haves like car seats, swings, and what not. My current must have car seat is a Britax B-Safe Ultra. Having heard rave reviews and having the seat be on the thinner side is a huge plus in our book as we still have C in a 5-Point Harness. The second thing on my list that is a must have is a mamaRoo4. This swing-type-thing has just come out when Baby C was born, but has since undergone big updates! It’s on my must have list because every mom deserves an item that has the power to sway not one, but two babies to sleep when we need a nap!

Having two of them makes your budget, really, super tight! We’ll be making larger purchases upfront such as the vehicle, car seats and swings to be able to recoup our finances throughout the pregnancy.

During our ultrasound we were able to see two beating hearts, and right on track development. They couldn’t be better! We did up our prescription of progesterone to ensure our levels stay safe to support the pregnancy.

There’s not much more to report this week, as I mentioned, this will be the longest pregnancy ever! Bump-Date returns next week!

Jump Starting Preparedness & Nursery

I’ve mentioned before that the nursery we want was my fathers office. He’s since passed away and I really had a hard time letting that go. However, this is something he would want.

Right now this room is a bunch of junk. Literally, here’s a picture to prove it.

It’s become a “storage” of sorts. So yesterday, I started going through the junk. Lots of it is donate-able, some of it belongs to my siblings, and the desks will also go. One is going to our Nana Mindy, and the other will probably go to the trash.

I’ve picked up all the wedding junk, putting it in one box. Labeled boxes for removal on my next weekend off and researched ways to store photos.

Once all of the items are out, the first thing to do is to replace drywall with new and paint the walls. If we have the ability to replace the window we will, as it’s the last window in the house to replace.

The second thing to do is to remove the floor. Again, not pictured is a bunch of tile that is broken from rolling chairs. Because the tile is broken, and cannot be replaced we will be replacing the entire floor with wood laminate. I love the affordability of wood laminate while still being durable. We typically buy from Costco, Sams Club, or Lowe’s for wood laminate dependent on what we’re looking for. While we don’t have a theme, I’m almost positive I’m going for rustic wood.

The goal is to have this done by June, maybe July. That way we can begin to decorate and make the room their own.

Now, let’s talk about preparedness. With each of the girls, I wasn’t “prepared”. And for all intents and purposes, I was a ‘single’ mom. Andi’s dad was the only father who has stuck around for her. And despite our differences, he’s a good dad to her. But even when we were together, there was no sense of urgency to be prepared.

This pregnancy is much different. I’m not even 7 weeks yet (Hurry up Saturday!), and we have made adjustments to bills, and plans to prepare. The first major plan is to sell our beloved Jeep. Do I want to sell our Jeep? Hell no. I love my Jeep! But, it’s no longer practical if these twins decide to make it past vanishing twin stage. The general point of no concern after two heartbeats are seen. For me, I probably won’t actually feel comfortable until the first trimester is over. So, sadly, goodbye Jeep.

The proceeds from beloved Jeep will go straight to a down payment for a larger vehicle. Which, we still haven’t decided on.

The second step in our preparedness plan deals directly with baby stash and money. What’s the one thing you wish you were prepared for during your first three months of pregnancy? Despite all the diapers I had received with my first baby shower, and second I still felt like I didn’t have enough diapers. Let’s be honest, one baby shits a lot…two babies? Oh goodness. So, the first step to preparedness is buying a pack of diapers and a set of wipes from each paycheck each week. Since Zoram and I get paid on opposite weeks, this works out to 4 packs of diapers and 4 wipes a month..5 if you count his commission checks.

Any left over money, post bills, are to go straight to savings and STAY THERE.

Preparedness! It’s happening!

6 Weeks BUMP-Date!

Gooooood morning all!

And happy Monday! Monday’s are so fun right, I’m sure your probably saying “ha, she’s so wrong I hate Monday’s!” You’re right, your Monday may suck because your perspective of Monday’s has been etched into you. My Monday’s never suck because it’s the start of a fresh week, a chance to make this week my b*t%h!

Anywho, back to our original subject. Happy 6 weeks of pregnancy to us!

Saturday was the 6 week mark, and let me tell you… as of Sunday, 6 weeks hit me like a freight train!

Insomnia? You got it!

Fatigue? Here it is!

Morning sickness? You betcha!

Sensitive boobs? Yup!

I thought I was pretty lucky up until Saturday. I thought I’d have a smooth pregnancy. HA, HA, HA, laughs Mother Nature.

Sunday, the smell of coffee made my stomach turn. But, I drank it anyway. I managed to sip, then be queasy. Sip, then queasy. Sunday’s breakfast is always big and bold for our house. The girls requested French toast, bacon, sausage, and juice. And throughout the whole process of cooking it, I was ready to run to the restroom. Luckily, that didn’t happen. But, when making my own breakfast… I wanted eggs! Or so I thought. Those eggs quickly became Zoram’s. For lunch, ah forget it, I didn’t even have lunch. I did have frozen peaches and cream, which hit the spot and didn’t even make me want to stop eating! YAY!

When dinner rolled around, I swore I wanted burgers. It sounded so good. But, by the time they were cooked I smelt the burgers, the twins said “nope”. Poor Zoram who had cooked the food made jokes about my cooking, to which I said I obviously cook better because they like what I cook. 🤣

After waking up at 1 AM, unable to fall asleep, missing my team call at 3 AM because I finally fell asleep….Fast forward to this morning where I sat on the bed sipping water and saltines, not working out like I wanted to. What a disappointment, no working out. This too shall pass, at least I hope.

One thing that’s very different from my last pregnancy is the timing. Usually, in pregnancy, you’ll just now be finding out your pregnant. However, we are not ‘normal’ so we get to see the doctor weekly making this perhaps the longest pregnancy ever.

Next week, we shall start with weekly bump pictures! We hope you enjoy our journey, as much as we are!
